The Under 11 Fillies.

Bearsted 0 - 7 Fulston Fillies (09-09-07)
An away day to remember for our new u11s, with half the squad brand new to football it was an excellent result. The game started brightly enough with lots of possession. An early goal by Beth Rodger soon settled the side down. Victoria Thompson made a fine start to her football career, playing the last defenders role was lonely but her concentration during the whole game was outstanding along with her goal kicks. Beth Rodger picked up the managers award for all round contribution scoring 6 or the seven goals. Sophie Harper scored her first of the season playing in unfamiliar midfield position. Finally Taylor Reid picked up the player of the match for her tireless work rate and could on another day scored a hatrick. Well done to all the girls for a enjoyable morning.
Fulston Fillies 1 - 0 Woodstock (16-09-07)
Fillies came out on top after a battle that in truth could have gone either way with Woodstock dominating the ball for long periods. Fillies had to defend and how well they stood up to the challenge. Jessica was in fine form controlling her box and denying numerous efforts on her goal. Victoria again stood strong never panicking with wave after wave of attacking pressure by Woodstock. Georgia dominated our defensive half of the pitch ofter creating attacking opportunities by stepping into the ball and snuffing of Woodstocks midfield. Shola got herself involved throughout the game and produced some stunning long throws that caused panic in the Woodstock defence. The first half went well for the fillies with both Beth and Taylor going close, Beth struck a free kick that just shaded the near post and again got herself into the mix and almost produced something out of nothing. Taylor improving her work rate every game scored the winner with some fine inter play between her and Beth late in the second. Sophie had an excellent game in midfield breaking up Woodstock attacks and supporting our attackers, phenomenal effort. Leah and Laura although still learning got themselves involved when given the chance and helped team mates through including encouraging their team mates when we were all backs to the wall in the last 5 Min's. Taylor picked up back to back player of the match award and Jessica was voted managers player of the match. Well done to all the girls for their efforts in a GREAT BATTLING VICTORY.
Fulston Filles 1 - 1 Gravesham (23/09/07)
Fillies welcomed back long absentee Alice to the ranks this week but it wasn't enough to give the girls a positive result. In truth it was a flat performance with the game being played a majority of the time in midfield. I can't remember either goalkeeper being called into action apart from the one effort each that found the back of the net. Beth was fillies scorer, thats 7 in 3 for the midfield hotshot. Georgia and Alice had solid games and won managers and opposition player of the match respectively. Sorry gilrs short match report but I cannot recall anything else to add.
Fulston Fillies 0 - 4 Lordswood (07-10-07)
The scoreline suggests a complete one sided game, but the performance was everything but that. Lordswood have destroyed teams by 10 or more goals in their previous 4 games but came up against a very determined Fillies team that had no wish to be humiliated. Lordswood took a two goal lead early on through long range efforts. By half time it was three despite some dogged defending. Second half when tired minds normally take over the girls got stronger and even threatened the Lordswood goal on three occasions. A bit more composure near the goal might have changed the direction of the contest. Jesscia Emmett in the goal for the Fillies was voted as opposition player of the match. The managers award went the whole team for their 100% effort and concentration throughout the game.
Meridian 6 - 0 Fulston Fillies (21-10-07)
A real tough baptism of fire for the girls against a feirce Meridian team that often stepped over the line unpunished. Vicky was voted OPM of the match and Amy was managers player of the match.
Fulston Fillies 1 - 3 Walderslade (28-10-07)
A game that was pleasant on the eye except for the 3 own goals conceded, 2 by the fillies and the other by Walderslade. The girls lacked a touch infront of goal that on another day would have seen an home win for the girls. Vicky picked up OPM of the match.
Walderslade 2 - 0 Fulston Fillies (04-11-07)
Another game without a goal, but why is the mystry. Fillies created all the chances and played the best football throughout the game. Vicky was voted OPM of the match for the third game running. Beth was managers player of the Match.
Fulston Fillies 2 - 0 Walderslade Bluebells (Cup) (11-11-07)
With change comes the first goals in five games. Beth grabbing two second half goals, unlucky not to complete her hatrick hitting the upright in the last 2 mins of the game. New signing Elle was a missing link in midfield allowing Fillies to move Beth into a more forward position. Amy deputising in goal had a hand in both goals, very route one but effective. Beth was voted OPM and Alice was the managers player of the match.
Gravesham 1 - 2 Fulston Fillies 2 (25-11-07)
This win was long time coming for the girls after 5 successive defeats. It was made all the difficult having to come from behind to grab a goal in each half. In truth it could have been a convincing win if not for the Gravesham keeper. Beth Rodger and a rare treat from Georgia Morse grabbed goals for the fillies. The move of the match involved a four pass and move with Amy Bunting to Elle onto Georgia who rolled the ball into Beth only to see her effort flick off the crossbar. A good day for the defence with Alice, Vicky and Jess all putting a good shift to ensure we took maximum points. OPM went Taylor and managers player went to Alice.
Lordswood 4 - 2 Fulston Fillies (16-12-07) (Cup)
What an enjoyable game of footbal, one that all spectators, referee and both sets of managers and coaches agreed was a great advert for girls football. In two contrasting styles of approach Fillies playing counter attack and Lordswood passing and movement made for an exciting game that in truth could have been 6-6 if not for missed opportunites from both sides. The on fire striker Beth Rodger grabbed a goal in each half. Beth picked the OPM and Leah was voted managers player of the match.
Fulston Fillies 0 - 5 Meridian (06-01-08)
An unfortunate scoreline that did no justice for the the way the girls played. Going in at half time 1-0 down due to a deflected goal against reserve keeper Amy Bunting was a blow but given the way that the girls were playing I has no doubt that the 2nd half would be ours. Football is a cruel game as the girls found out. The 2nd half started well hitting the post then the crossbar I felt an equaliser was on its way but no!!!. Meridain hit us the counter attack and scored their 2nd of the match. This was a blow but the girls picked up again and went close through efforts from Shola who hit the foot of the upright and Beth who was denied by a determined Meridian keeper. With a couple of minutes left I brought on some younger girls to gain some valuable experience and Meridian capitalised on this and scored 3 quickfire goals. Alice Wakeling was OPM and Shola Bailey was managers POM.
Bearsted 2 - 3 Fulston Fillies (13-01-08)
On a shocking pitch the girls produced some breath taking football dominating pocession, being caught on the counter was a the disapointing aspect of the agmes. Beth Rogders Bagged an excellant hatrick. Jessica Emmett was OPM and Beth Rogder was managers POM.
Fulston Fillies 2 - 1 Gravesham (27-01-08)
A good day at the office is what I would use to describe this game. An early well taken goal by Elle settled the girls down. Sophie Harper debuting in goal had a relatively quiet time only a penalty that shot past her was the only effort on goal that the Gravesham team could muster. The game was mainly fought in midfield. An early 2nd half goal from Amy Bunting sealed the game. Beth Rogder was OPM and Elle was managers POM.
