FA Charter Standard

The FA Charter Standard Programme scheme was launched in February 2001 in partnership with McDonald’s. The programme’s aim is raising the standards and reaching excellence in grass roots Football. There are three levels of awards.
- FA Charter Standard Junior/ Adult Club
- FA Charter Standard Development Club
- FA Charter Standard Community Club
For clubs to achieve the standard they have to demonstrate that they are safe, well organised and offer opportunities for all. Clubs provide evidence on the following.
- Managers / Volunteers are qualified level 1 coaches this also includes child protection and first aid training.
- Managers / Volunteers undergo criminal records checks.
- The club has a designated child protection/ welfare officer.
- Clubs have in place constitution/rules, certified annual accounts, code of conduct for both players and supporters/ parents and public liability insurance.
- Soccer parents on line course completed.
- Clubs follow the FA child protection policy.
Fulston Zebras F.C. now have a Safeguarding Children Policy in place - check this on the "Child Protection" page of this website.
Fulston Zebras achieved FA Charter Junior/ Adult Club status in May 2005, this means we have demonstrated the club has management controls, processes and procedure in place that provide a safe friendly environment for all, also we can apply for funding under the Football Foundation to provide the best possible pitches, coaches, referee’s and equipment so players can develop and achieve their goals.
The club can use the FA Charter Standard logo on all literature, footballs and coaches shirts. By achieving the FA Charter Standard Fulston Zebras Football Club is a safe, well organised club offering opportunities for all.
