Steve Barker - The Founder.

It's fair to say, without the vision and commitment of Steve, this great football club would never had excisted. At the end of the 2003/04 season, after devoting 25 years of his life to the cause, he decided to step aside and make way for new blood. We all salute you, Steve, the club continues to make progress thanks to the dedicated people that continue your lifes work.

Dave Symonds - The Chairman 1980-1984.

It was a sad day for the club on March 23rd 1984 when the club's Chairman, David Symonds, past away at the early age of 42. The club will never forget David's hard work in those early days, and have a memorial trophy in his honour which is presented to players with outstanding service to the club.

The start of something special...

In the June of 1979, Stephen Barker, aged just 15 left Celtic Sports "Admin" and joined forces with Derek Turner to set up a five a side football team drawn from boys attending Fulston Manor school in Sittingbourne. It was September 1979, the first black and white stripes of Zebras were seen competing in the Sittingbourne Junior 5 a side league in the under 14's age group. In March 1980 a 2nd 5 a side team were formed, this time competing in the under 12's. It was later on that year that Mike Way, whose son Justin was a member of the under 12's five a side was enlisted to from the first 11 a side team.

We had arrived....

1980-81 season was the first competitive eleven a side season for our young under 12's, which saw them finish runners up in the Medway City Boys league and champions of the five a side league, with the under 14's finishing runners up in the five a side. In 1981 the club held it's very first presentation night.

The merger and on to the present day...

The 1981-82 season saw the successful under twelves move up to under thirteens and Pete Allen and Alans Sills were brought in to run the newly formed under twelves. This season was exciting for the club as it saw the merger between Zebras and local rivals Keycol Kestrals. With a number of the five a side team players playing eleven a side for the Kestrals, the merger was a natural progression. In the 1986-87 season, after the original eleven a side team had completed a full season as under 18's, it was decided to venture into the realms of senior football for the first time and were accepted into the Medway Area Sunday League. The club has continued to grow from strength to strength and in 2001 saw the first introduction of girls football with the formation of "The Fillies". This prompted a name change by the Medway City Boys League, who now had the youngest all girls football team in Europe competing in the under 8's division! The name of the league was changed to the Medway News Youth League. Just to prove that this football club can make history!
